Having used other church management programs and testing multiple dozens of them, I am really impressed with the way that stafftool handles family relationships. As far as I know it is the ONLY program that is made to handle combined households, it it does it extremely well!
When you create a record for a new person, towards the bottom of the page is a section called “Relationships”. Here is some of the power of the program:
1. If you select “married to…” and pick the spouse, the spouse’s record is also updated
2. Similarly, if you select “sibling of…” and pick the sibling, both records are updated
But this is only the beginning. Stafftool allows you to track blended families. Because you can choose and define each relationship in the household you can adequately handle scenarios like:
1. Different last names in the same household still show as related to each other
2. You can list a child as the child of the mother but not the male in the household
You might have a family where the female has a child, the male has a child (each from previous relationships) an they then have a child together. Each relationship can be documented, allowing the staff more and better information to understand the family dynamics of that household.
You’re on a roll Mike! Great explanation…pinned.
