This is the first post is a series of slick ways to search your Stafftool account directly from your Mac. First up is how to do it with Quicksilver.
First, open Quicksilver's preferences and make sure the Web Search Module plugin is installed

Then, click the Catalog icon in the toolbar, and click the + icon at the bottom of the window:

When you click that menu option, a drawer will open like so:

Click the plus icon to add a new search pattern. Then, double click the name field to give it the name you'll search for later (Stafftool, or your church's name should work) and then in the URL field use the following pattern:
http://subdomain.stafftool.com/search?query=***
where "subdomain" is replaced with your church's Stafftool subdomain.
Then, click the refresh icon in the Catalog to add make sure it's in Quicksilver's catalog and close the preferences.

Finally, open up the Quicksilver pane, start typing the name of the search you just created and when it's selected hit enter. This will open up the text entry box where you can start typing in the person or event's name that you'd like to search you Stafftool for.

When you are finished entering the name, hit enter one more time to submit the search to Stafftool. Your browser will open and search for the term and present you with the results. That's all there is to it!
Now, one last thing...you need to be logged into your Stafftool account for this to work, since you're searching your password protected information. So, you may be presented with your login screen... go ahead and log in and the query should continue.
Next I'll cover Butler, then LaunchBar. Enjoy!
