Here’s a quickie… a lot of our groups take place at homes of people who are already in our address book, or at the church. Could we have:
1. a church address field in the “account settings” under “edit church”?
2. could we have a button to select an address, or the church address when creating an event? Keep the manual entry fields, but allow us to pick an address that we have already entered.
Yes, this is definitely something I’d like to do. In fact, the back end is already partially set up to support this, I just need to work out the interface for letting people either enter in a new address or access and existing one. Great idea.
Something we have not thought of in this... a church might have multiple addresses (campuses) or they may have multiple buildings on their campus. We do not have this issue (yet) but I can see where some churches may need that control. So maybe in the account settings for the church there is the option to add multiple addresses (like in the people pages)?
What about three radio buttons: o Church Address o Family Address o Manual Address

Hey Sam, you can actually add as many addresses, phone numbers, links and email addresses to your church as necessary. If you click the "church settings" link in the upper right corner you'll get this form:
And they work exactly like the ones on the people form, so you can add as many as necessary. So like I said, I can pretty easily make it so that if you're adding an address to a church rather than a person I can make it so the name field is a text field that you can fill in with whatever name you need, such as "Teen Building" or "Mailing Address" - that way you can add as many as necessary and they'll all be custom. When I get the "locations" stuff finished up, you'll be able to choose these locations as the address for an event...i could probably make it somewhat like the message "to" drop down, where there are two sections, with the church addresses at top, and the household addresses on the bottom. That way you could easily specify that an event is either at a church location or at someone's home. Of course, there will have to be an option to enter a custom address as well for one-off events that are places like restaurants or movie theaters or whatever. What do you guys think?
