With so many people using facebook or having their own web sites it would be nice to have a place in the profiles where they could add web sites [much the same way they add emails right now]. This would also be helpful for organizations other than churches - for instance, an association of churches, etc.
Yup. This is yet another thing that's available in the underlying database the Stafftool runs atop, it's just not available in the UI yet. It's definitely possible and will be coming though!
I added this and will probably be pushing it out tonight. Quick question though - what are the website name options that should be there? So far I have Work, Blog, MySpace, Facebook, and Other. Are there other common ones that should be on there that you can think of?
This is now live!
Great job, once again. I think those categories are fine. They could be: work, personal, social, other. or anything really. Do these show up and link in the iPhone as well?
Ah, I'll have to update the iphone templates as well, thanks for the reminder.
One other thought on the labels. You could use a text field and then the link field, like setting up a bookmark (which is what your icon is). This way when they web links show up in a person's profile (on iPhone or Computer) it shows the "Link Name" only and redirects to the site on click.
I see you have this on the iPhone now... SWEET. I have been watching for this. I knew you couldn't wait to get it there! 8-) Well done!
Just had a thought on this. Right now, when you view a persons record on the computer or iPhone it shows us the generic "type" of site, like facebook, work, other, etc. So if I have 5 "others" I do not know which one I should click on. Is it possible/feasible to have a way to enter the link with something like "church:http://www.mychurchweb.org" and whatever is before the colon is parsed as the text for the link? If nothing is there then it uses the default, but as an "advanced" option in the help there is suggestions on how to add that tag. Just a thought.
