So I send out a message to a group of leaders. Wouldn't it be cool if I could then click on that message and see all of the people in the group and whether they have read the message? Is it still NEW in their inbox? The next step would then be an Accept/Decline for events that have an email sent to a group where a group leader or admin would know that everyone read the message and see if they will be able to attend the meeting.

Yeah, this is doable...I'd have to work out the interface for viewing this stuff. This could even be an area with some real time charts as well :)

This might even be the same type of "engine" that handles building use requests... it goes to a "coordinator" who then accepts or denies the request. It might be compared to a moderated forum where things need approval, only it could be used for events, buildings, and even messages that are sent out.
